Representatives of the Serbian CPC attended 9th Asia-Pacific Roundtable on SCP, Colombo, Sri Lanka, June 10-13.
This event is organized by the NCPC of Sri Lanka, and whole week was full of events related to APRSCP, but also to meetings of representatives of the pilot-countries participating in global Chemical Leasing activities.

June 8: Training on "Responsible production", for representatives of the NCPC's from Asia-Pacific region, but also for other NCPC's, including Serbian.

June 9: 1st meeting on Chemical Leasing where 7 pilot countries (Morocco, Egypt, Colombia, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Russian Federation and Serbia) gave overview of activities in their respective countries. National coordinator for ChL in Serbia, Ms. Satric, informed colleagues on the status of the project KNJAZ MILOS-ECOLAB, as well as of the projects in the pipeline. During Q&A session, some challenges and barriers were addressed. This meeting also discussed the strategy of UNIDO for the ChL global activities in next 3 years. It is important to stress that creation of regional networks (including Balkan region) is foreseen.

June 10: Opening ceremony of the 9th APRSCP. Among others, Director General of UNIDO, Dr. Yumkella addressed the attendance saying that he "hope that the Roundtable will further pave the way for a smooth and speedy transition to resource-efficient and low-carbon pattern of industrial development in the region".
Later that day, 2nd meeting of ChL group, where strategic planning was continued.

June 11: Participation at the 9th APRSCP, especially at the Mini Roundtable on "Product Stewardship for Closing Resource Loop", where Dr Joas introduced the tool "Responsible Production", but also ChL.

June 12: Parallel session on Sound Chemical Management, which was almost exclusively about Chemical Leasing, including quality criteria, case studies from Sri Lanka and Europe.

June 13: Workshop on Chemical Leasing where over 20 participants received training on Chemical Leasing basics, problems to be solved, how to start chemical leasing project, sustainability criteria. Workshop was moderated by Dr. Joas, and Ms Satric contributed by presenting case study from Serbia, but also answering numerous question.
