Local authorities in Pancevo have signed a memorandum on a cleaner production project with the Cleaner Production Center of Serbia, state petrochemical producer HIP Petrohemija from Pancevo and eight public utilities in the town. The project calls for optimizing manufacturing processes in order to reduce harmful effects on the environment and is one of key steps to solving the pollution problem in Pancevo, according to Mayor Vesna Martinovic. Director of the Serbian Cleaner Production Centre Dr Branko Dunjic said that the result of the project will be a list of CP options that, if really applied by companies, will reduce level of pollution in the town. The Centre will provide help of Other companies from Pancevo will be able to join the project over the next 60 days.
