Launched National UNIDO Chemical Leasing Network

Launched National UNIDO Chemical Leasing Network

On December 8, National UNIDO Chemical Leasing Network was officially launched at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Belgrade.

Chemical Leasing is an innovative service-based business model that promotes sustainable management of chemicals where the economic benefits do not result from the quantity of chemicals sold, but from the services rendered by the chemicals. The basis of payment could, for example, be the amount of pieces cleaned, or the amount of area painted.

Mr. Joas, international expert from BiPRO, Germany explained the basic idea of the model. Mr. Masanovic (ECOLAB, Belgrade) spoke about ECOLAB experience in model application in Knaz Milos mineral water bottling company.

The goals of the Network , as explained Vojislavka Satric, CPC Serbia, are:
- Chemical Leasing business model promotion
- identification of industry sectors suitable for model application
- identification and overcoming of barriers and constraints in model application
- lobbying for adoption of policies, incentives and economic instruments for model promotion
- expert network development
- consulting on technology optimization
- promotion of R&D on Chemical leasing through cooperation with Universities
