About us


UNIDO in close cooperation with the main national stakeholders developed a three years project for the establishment and operation of a Cleaner Production Centre of Serbia. Centre started to work on September 1, 2007 and it is located on the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade as its host-institution. The official launch of the CPCS was on the Sixth Ministerial Conference “Environment for Europe” held in Belgrade in October 10-12, 2007.

Our mission is to promote the sustainable application of CP and related concepts in order to increase the efficiency of the national industry and to reduce risks to humans and the environment. The aim of the CPCS is to provide services to the private and public sector, to create local capacity, to co-ordinate the different national CP efforts and contributes to establish the legal framework to facilitate the promotion of CP.

 

SCPC will become a focal point for all activities related to CP and CP in Serbia. It will become goverment’s partner in education of the companies for new EU environmental legislation. It will have a netwtork of more than 100 highly experienced and skilled experts, indroducing CP methodology in Serbian companies.
